Club America and Chivas de Guadalajara face off Saturday at Estadio Banorte in the Liga MX Clausura 2026 Clasico Nacional. Kickoff is set for 9:15 p.m. local time in a match that could shift the top of the table.
America lost the overall lead after a 4-3 defeat to Cruz Azul in the Clasico Joven, exposing defensive frailties. Coach Guillermo Almada hopes new signings Santiago Bueno and Santiago Ramos can shore up the back line following Sebastian Caceres' departure to Celta Vigo.
Chivas enter with momentum after routing Pumas 3-0 under Argentine manager Gabriel Milito. Guadalajara sits atop the standings with 17 points, one ahead of America and Toluca, making a win potentially decisive in the title race.
Brian Rodriguez leads America with three goals this tournament, while Henry Martin has also netted three following a resurgent season. For Chivas, Santiago Sandoval stood out in the victory over Pumas.
In the United States, the match will air on TUDN USA and stream on ViX, not on Telemundo Deportes as some listings incorrectly suggested. Coverage begins at 11:15 p.m. Eastern Time.
