AEW wrestler Pac dies at 40 after final match

All Elite Wrestling announced the death of Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac, on Sunday night. The 40-year-old British wrestler died one day after his final match at the All Out event in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. No cause of death has been disclosed by the promotion or his family.

Satterley challenged Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship in his last appearance. Andrade praised his opponent's potential to become a world champion following their bout. Satterley began his career in 2004 in Newcastle upon Tyne before gaining international recognition.

He performed in WWE as Adrian Neville and later Neville, winning the NXT Championship in 2014 with a 286-day reign. He also captured the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice, with his first reign lasting 196 days. Satterley joined AEW in 2019 and formed the Death Triangle faction with Penta Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix.

Tributes poured in from across the wrestling industry. AEW president Tony Khan described Satterley as defining excellence both as a performer and a human being. WWE chief content officer Triple H highlighted his pivotal role in establishing the NXT brand. Wrestlers including Kevin Owens, Rhea Ripley, and Rey Fenix shared personal condolences.
