Colo Colo held 0-0 by Huachipato, extends lead atop Chilean league

Colo Colo drew 0-0 away to Huachipato at Estadio Ester Roa Rebolledo in Concepción on matchday 22 of the 2026 Campeonato Nacional. The result leaves the visitors on 53 points, 14 ahead of joint runners-up Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile.

Huachipato, 13th with 25 points, defended resolutely and relied on goalkeeper Christian Bravo to deny Colo Colo's second-half chances. The home side grew into the game after a first half dominated by the league leaders.

Cape Verde international Vozinha, 40, started his first league match for Colo Colo and kept a second consecutive clean sheet across 180 minutes following his Copa Chile debut. He wore the traditional yellow kit used at the 2026 World Cup.

Vozinha had one nervous moment before half-time when he fumbled a cross, allowing a shot that Arturo Vidal cleared off the line; the play was ruled offside. The goalkeeper was cheered by around 20,000 spectators despite wet, difficult pitch conditions.

Coach Fernando Ortiz handed Vozinha his league debut after the keeper had been an unused substitute for the Superclásico and the Audax Italiano fixture. Substitutions included Benjamín Mellado for Huachipato and Francisco Marchant plus Felipe Raipán for Colo Colo.
