Fire at Düzce Door Factory Injures One Firefighter

A fire broke out around 21:30 on 13 September at the Düzce Door factory in Gökçeköy, located on the D-100 highway. The plant produces wooden doors and American panels, which fueled the rapid spread of flames across the entire facility.

One firefighter was injured when a burning roof section collapsed during the operation. He received initial treatment at the scene and was then transferred to Düzce Atatürk State Hospital for further care.

“The important thing is that there is no loss of life. There is no loss of life. We will complete the extinguishing operations at the factory this evening, God willing.”

Mayor Faruk Özlü visited the site and stated there were no fatalities. He said municipal, district, and forestry crews were fighting the blaze and aimed to complete extinguishing efforts by the evening of 13 September.

Firefighters simultaneously worked to prevent the fire from jumping to adjacent residential buildings. Cooling operations continued after the main flames were brought under control.

Authorities will investigate the cause once the fire is fully out. The mayor noted that neighbors reported previous small fires at the factory and suggested there may have been a delay in the initial alarm.
