Joshua vs Fury confirmed for Cardiff on December 11

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will meet in a £150 million heavyweight bout at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on December 11, Saudi organiser Turki Alalshikh confirmed. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix at no extra cost to subscribers, with ring walks scheduled for approximately 2am UK time to accommodate American television audiences.

Promoter Eddie Hearn had insisted on keeping the event in Britain despite earlier plans for a November date at Madison Square Garden in New York. Both fighters and Hearn celebrated the announcement, with Joshua posting that he is "inspiring a generation" and Hearn thanking the UK public for their support.

“For 15 years no one has been able to make this fight. Back in April, I said that any announcement would come from me. I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans.”

Cardiff hotels are already reporting high demand for the December date, which falls during the busy pre-Christmas period. The city council stated no application has been made to extend the stadium's standard 1am curfew, though the Joe Calzaghe vs Mikkel Kessler fight in 2007 started at 2am for US broadcast reasons.

Bookmakers Betfair list Fury as the 8/15 favourite, with Joshua priced at 13/8. The bout ends more than a decade of negotiations between the two British heavyweight champions.
