Justice Minister Gürlek: AI System Launched in Kayseri Courts

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek addressed the Council of Judges and Prosecutors' monitoring meeting in Istanbul, stating Turkey faces a dense judicial agenda with rising public expectations. He cited 26,777 judges and prosecutors currently serving across 597 courthouses under the Fourth Judicial Reform Strategy.

Gürlek emphasized that speed must not compromise due process, insisting every file deserves thorough review while citizens should not wait unnecessarily for their rights. The ministry has activated 204 Judicial Efficiency Offices to diagnose administrative and technical causes of delays in prolonged investigations and trials.

“Behind every file that comes before you, no matter how voluminous or old, there is a human being waiting for justice. Let us put ourselves in their place.”

The minister announced an AI-supported justice system, developed by the ministry's IT department, has begun operating in Kayseri courthouses alongside a new call center. He also confirmed the Alo Adalet 135 hotline is scheduled to launch nationwide in October.

Gürlek urged judges and prosecutors to pursue every case with determination regardless of volume or age, reminding them that a person awaiting justice stands behind each file. He pledged no compromise on fair trial guarantees, judicial independence, or security of tenure while accelerating proceedings.
