King Charles Confirms Harry and Meghan Will Not Return to Royal Roles

King Charles III stated that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan will not return as working members of the British royal family. The clarification came via a letter authorized by the monarch to avoid any doubt or confusion upon the couple's return.

The letter confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will remain private citizens and will not use the titles of His or Her Royal Highness. Their position stepping down from senior royal duties in January 2020 will continue to be fully respected.

“In short, their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests”

Palace sources indicated the letter was made public for transparency rather than risking leaks. Security matters will be handled by relevant police agencies, while their charity work will continue in a private capacity.

The couple returned to Britain after spending six years living in California. They arrived in the U.K. in late August and are expected to reside in the Cotswolds region.
