Latin Recording Academy Unveils 2026 Latin Grammy Nominations

The Latin Recording Academy announced nominations for the 27th Latin Grammy Awards on September 16, 2026. Mexican composer and producer Edgar Barrera tops the list with 10 nominations across the three general categories, driven by his work on albums by Karol G and Carín León.

Karol G, Rosalía, Jorge Drexler, and the Argentine duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso each earned seven nominations. Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte secured six apiece, while 19-year-old Argentine artist Milo J collected five.

“The Album of the Year category features a balance of musical genres, generations, countries of origin, and gender, reflecting the diversity within Latin music and its growing global cultural influence.”

Ten albums compete for Album of the Year, including Rosalía's "Lux (Complete Works)," Karol G's "Tropicoqueta," Rawayana's "¿Dónde es el After?," and Mon Laferte's "Femme Fatale." The Academy highlighted the category's genre, generational, and geographic balance.

Venezuelan artists received over 20 nominations. Joaquina earned two nods (Best Pop Song for "Amarillo," Best Singer-Songwriter Song for "Generación digital"), Rawayana for Album of the Year, Elena Rose for Record of the Year ("Alma"), Danny Ocean for Best Tropical Song ("Crayola"), and Maye for Best New Artist.

Chilean representation reached a historic high: Mon Laferte leads with nominations in Record, Album, Song of the Year, and Best Singer-Songwriter Album; Francisca Valenzuela and Los Tres also earned nods. The soundtrack for series "La Casa de los Espíritus," featuring Víctor Jara among others, was nominated for Best Music for Visual Media.

Colombian artists feature prominently, with Karol G's seven nominations leading the country's contingent. Juanes, Feid, J Balvin, Ryan Castro, and newcomer Aria Vega also appear across multiple categories.

The ceremony will take place November 12, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, broadcast on TelevisaUnivision. Special honors include the Musical Excellence Award for Francisco Céspedes, Lila Downs, Alaska, Daniela Mercury, and Chichí Peralta, and the Trustees Award for Omar Alfanno.
