Logano Wins Bristol NASCAR Race; Hocevar, Blaney Brawl After Crash

Joey Logano won the NASCAR Cup Series race Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, leading the final seven laps after passing Carson Hocevar for the lead. Logano started from the pole and led 93 laps to move into third in the playoff standings.

The post-race focus shifted to a physical altercation between Hocevar and Ryan Blaney, who were racing for second with 41 laps remaining. Blaney attempted an outside pass before Hocevar slid his No. 77 Chevrolet down the track, resulting in contact that sent Blaney's No. 12 Ford into the inside wall.

“I don't know what I did wrong there. I crossed him over and looked like he spun himself, and then he wants to instigate a fight.”

After Hocevar finished third, Blaney confronted him on pit road, shoving the taller driver. Hocevar responded with two overhand rights, knocking off Blaney's hat and striking his cheek. Blaney fell, recovered, and threw a left that removed Hocevar's hat before crew members separated them.

Blaney led a race-high 202 laps but saw his rally end after a pit-lane penalty dropped him into traffic. He finished 33rd and fell to sixth in the playoff standings with a second consecutive finish outside the top 30.

NASCAR officials reviewed the incident but reached no definitive verdict on fault. They described the sequence as Blaney clearing Hocevar and moving to the bottom lane while Hocevar attempted to cross back underneath, leaving unresolved whether Blaney blocked late or Hocevar braked late.
