Multiple Fires and Building Collapse Across Turkey Leave Injured

A series of unconnected fires broke out across four Turkish provinces on September 13 and 16, damaging residential properties but causing no fatalities. In Kayseri's Melikgazi district, a detached house in Esentepe Mahallesi was completely destroyed by a fire of unknown origin on September 13. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after approximately one hour; the home was empty at the time.

On September 16, a ground-floor apartment in a three-story building on Kıbrıs Caddesi in Çorum's Kale Mahallesi caught fire. The cause remains undetermined, and the unit sustained material damage.

Also on September 16, a rooftop cooking fire spread to the attic of a three-story home in Yeşilyurt Mahallesi, Afşin district, Kahramanmaraş. Residents had descended to a lower floor after cooking when flames erupted. Firefighters contained the fire, which damaged the roof.

The same day, a fire of unknown origin broke out on the second floor of a two-story house in Selvilitepe Mahallesi, Manisa. A mother and her son escaped unharmed before firefighters extinguished the blaze.

On September 18, a building undergoing urban renewal demolition in İnönü Mahallesi, Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, collapsed spontaneously after work had paused. Three pedestrians were injured by debris. AFAD and fire crews conducted search-and-rescue operations with trained dogs and drones, confirming no one was trapped. The firm's authorized representative and the excavator operator were taken to the police station for statements.
