Olivia Rodrigo Opens Unraveled Tour With Hits and Dissolving Dress

Olivia Rodrigo began her Unraveled world tour on September 25 at Hartford's PeoplesBank Arena in Connecticut, with Wolf Alice opening the show. The two-hour performance was structured around six seasonal acts and drew heavily from her third album, 'You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love.'

She opened with the album's lead single 'Drop Dead' followed by 'U + Me = <3' before delivering early hits including 'So American' and 'Good 4 U.' The set also featured the politically charged standalone single 'Serena Joy,' released last month after an initial limited run of 500 CDs.

Rodrigo paused the show to lead the arena in singing 'Happy Birthday' to her mother, who was in attendance. Billboard noted the audience skewed female but included men singing along to deep vocal parts on tracks like 'Expectations.'

The production highlight arrived during 'The Cure' when artificial rain poured over Rodrigo, causing her white sleeveless dress to gradually dissolve onstage. The effect revealed a red corset bodysuit and matching miniskirt underneath as she sang the lyric 'I'm unraveled.'

The show closed with a three-song finale of 'Deja Vu,' 'All-American Bitch,' and 'Expectations.' Rodrigo later posted on Instagram calling the first night 'magic' and thanking fans who attended.
