Taylor Swift Wins Three VMAs, Becomes Most Awarded Artist in Show History

Taylor Swift won three awards at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, bringing her career total to 33 Moon Persons and making her the most decorated artist in the show's history. She surpassed Beyoncé, who remained at 30 wins and was not nominated this year. The ceremony took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Swift took home the night's top prize, Video of the Year, for "The Fate of Ophelia," along with Best Direction for "Opalite" and the inaugural Artist Director Honors award recognizing her work as a creative director. She entered the evening with 11 nominations, the second-highest total of any artist.

During the broadcast, Swift premiered the music video for her new single "Patient Zero," written and directed by her and starring actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson. The track appears on the deluxe edition of her 2025 album, "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore," released last Friday.

Swift walked the red carpet alone in a sheer black corset top and silver skirt by Tamara Ralph Couture. Her husband, Travis Kelce, was absent due to a Kansas City Chiefs game against the Dolphins in Miami earlier that afternoon. The couple married in July after three years together.

Other notable red carpet appearances included Paris Hilton in a silver mini dress by The Blonds, JoJo in a revealing Nué ensemble, and Lisa Rinna, 63, who debuted a peroxide blonde wig and a white strapless gown with a thigh-high slit. The show was hosted by Snoop Dogg and featured tributes to Dolly Parton and George Michael.
