Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+ with Dimensity 9500

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+ on September 30, with both models launching on October 7. The Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Plus uses a 12.6-inch panel; both run at 120Hz refresh rates.

The tablets are powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset built on a 3nm process, paired with a new 3D vapor chamber for sustained performance. Samsung claims 61 percent faster NPU processing, 19 percent faster CPU, and 17 percent improved GPU versus the previous generation.

The Tab S12 Ultra measures 5.1 mm thick and weighs 692 grams, making it Samsung's thinnest tablet yet. It includes a dual rear camera system (13MP wide and 8MP ultra-wide), an 11,600mAh battery rated for up to 23 hours of video playback, and IP68 water resistance.

The Tab S12+ is thinner at 5.3 mm and lighter at 553 grams with a single 13MP rear camera. Both models include an S Pen in the box and support Galaxy AI features for productivity.

Pricing starts at $1,199 for the Tab S12+ and $1,399 for the Tab S12 Ultra, representing an increase over the previous Tab S11 series. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants.
