Both clubs advanced through high-stakes semifinals. Toluca defeated León 2-0 with goals from Federico Pereira and Federico Viñas, while Monterrey eliminated América on penalties after a 2-2 draw, with Diego Rossi and Lucas Ocampos scoring in regulation.

In Mexico the match will air free-to-air on Imagen TV (channel 3.1) and stream on Apple TV. U.S. viewers can watch on Univision in Spanish or via Apple TV's MLS Season Pass. Puerto Rico and Canada have Apple TV as the only confirmed platform.

This is the first time two Liga MX sides meet in the final since the competition adopted its current binational format. The winner earns a direct berth in the 2027 CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16, though both teams have already qualified through other routes.

Toluca, coached by Antonio Mohamed, reached the final with a disciplined tactical performance against León. Monterrey, under Matías Almeyda, relied on high pressure to unsettle América before prevailing in the shootout.
