Echorouk is the television channel of the media group that publishes one of Algeria's most widely read newspapers, and is among the channels founded after the sector opened to private broadcasting.
Its agenda covers domestic politics, security developments across the Sahel and energy; Algeria's position as a gas exporter has made the last of these internationally significant in recent years.
