SRF is Switzerland's German-language public broadcaster and addresses the country's largest language community. Its news service carries a particular specialism in covering the referendums held frequently under Swiss direct democracy: explaining the questions put to a vote and presenting the arguments of both sides in balance is a legal obligation of the corporation.
