Thai PBS

Thai PBS is Thailand's public broadcaster, established in 2008. Its funding model is notable: it carries no advertising and draws its income from taxes on alcohol and tobacco, a structure designed to keep it clear both of commercial pressure and of direct dependence on the government budget.

The corporation is known for a comparatively independent line within the country's broadcast environment. Social affairs, the environment, rural development and minority communities feature prominently in its agenda.
