Barcelona rout Racing Santander 7-2 to extend perfect La Liga start

Barcelona crushed Racing Santander 7-2 at Camp Nou on Wednesday to maintain their flawless start to the La Liga season. The victory gave Hansi Flick's side six wins from six league matches and a three-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table.

Raphinha stole the show with a hat-trick, converting two penalties and adding a third from open play to reach nine league goals in six appearances. João Cancelo scored twice, the second deflecting in off Asier Villalibre for an own goal, while Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal also found the net.

Racing briefly threatened with goals from Maguette Gueye and Yassir Zabiri, the latter capitalising on a Wojciech Szczesny error after the Polish goalkeeper replaced the injured Joan García at half-time. Yamal missed a first-half penalty and hit the post before scoring late.

Barcelona have now scored 33 goals in seven games across all competitions, averaging nearly five per match. Flick became the first Barcelona coach to win his first seven official fixtures, surpassing the club's previous best starts in 1929-30, 1960-61 and 2018-19.
