Indonesia · Indonesian · ● live
Metro TV went on air in 2000 as Indonesia's first rolling news channel. It was the first realisation of the idea of a news-focused channel in the broadcast space opened by Reformasi, and it introduced the continuous news format to the country.
The channel belongs to Media Group. Its owner is also the founder of one of the country's political parties, a connection cited as a concrete instance in Indonesia's debate about media independence and information readers should hold when weighing the channel.
Its agenda covers national politics, the economy and regional developments.
Streams are shown from each broadcaster's own official YouTube channel through the YouTube player; the content and all rights belong to those broadcasters. Montegre does not broadcast or retransmit. Live news coverage may contain distressing footage.
