UNIAN was founded in 1993 and is one of Ukraine's longest-established news agencies. It produces the raw news flow used by newspapers and broadcasters in the country, so a Ukrainian story often has UNIAN at its source.
The agency's own channel carries that flow directly to viewers. By the nature of agency journalism its copy is stripped of interpretation and weighted towards fact, which suits a reader who wants the raw version of a development.
