Actor Serhat Mustafa Kılıç Found Dead at His Home in Istanbul

Turkish actor Serhat Mustafa Kılıç was found dead in his apartment located in the Kağıthane district of Istanbul. His girlfriend, Özlem E., entered the home with a spare key after failing to reach him since Thursday.

Özlem E. found Kılıç motionless on a single armchair in the living room and notified emergency services. Medical teams arriving at the scene confirmed that the 51-year-old actor had already passed away.

“The loss is very sudden, and we have been receiving a lot of messages from his loved ones.”

Police and crime scene investigation units examined the residence and found no signs of cuts, wounds, or physical assault on his body. Authorities also discovered illegal substances and rolling papers inside the home, leading police to record the case as a suspicious death.

According to statements given to the police by his girlfriend, Kılıç had been battling lymphatic cancer. Following the initial investigations, his body was transferred to the Forensic Medicine Institution for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Friends and colleagues, including actor Eren Vurdem, gathered outside his home following the news. His body has since been claimed by relatives from the Forensic Medicine Institution and transferred to the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery morgue.

A commemoration ceremony will be held for Kılıç at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage. Following the Istanbul ceremony, his body will be taken to Ankara, where he will be laid to rest at the Karşıyaka Cemetery after a funeral prayer at the Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Mosque.
