In the trial regarding the school attack in Kahramanmaraş, defendant Peyman Pınar Mersinli was re-arrested. Previously, the 3rd High Criminal Court had ordered her release during the first hearing.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office objected to this release based on the existing evidence. Evaluating the objection, the 4th High Criminal Court issued a new arrest warrant for Mersinli.
“Justice has been served. The Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's objection was accepted, and an arrest warrant has been issued against the defendant Peyman Pınar Mersinli.”
Mersinli was detained in Osmaniye and sent back to prison following legal procedures. Meanwhile, the father Uğur Mersinli remains in custody as the legal proceedings continue.
The tragic incident occurred on April 15 at Ayser Çalık Secondary School. A gunman had killed one teacher and nine students while injuring 15 others.
