New Medium-Term Program Announced for 2027-2029

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced the 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program (MTP) during a meeting, establishing Turkey's economic roadmap for the next three years. The program focuses on strengthening macroeconomic stability, ensuring price stability, and maintaining fiscal discipline.

According to the updated figures, the 2026 growth forecast was revised to 3.3 percent, while industrial growth is projected at 2.3 percent. Additionally, the year-end inflation forecast has been updated to 28.4 percent, and tourism revenue targets were adjusted to 65 billion dollars.

“2026 yılı büyüme tahminimizi yüzde 3,3 olarak güncelledik. Sanayi büyümesi tahminimiz yüzde 2,3’e gerilerken yıl sonu enflasyon tahminimiz yüzde 28,4’e yükseldi.”

Government officials evaluated the new program on social media. Trade Minister Ömer Bolat emphasized boosting high-value-added production, while Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Kacır stated they will continue working toward sustainable growth targets.

Communications Director Burhanettin Duran noted that the program provides a strong roadmap for inclusive growth and permanent social welfare. The MTP aims to create approximately 2.1 million new jobs and gradually increase economic growth through 2029.
