Newzroom Afrika launched in 2019. Its founding carries particular significance in the South African media landscape: as a national news channel established by black entrepreneurs, it is regarded as a concrete step in the argument about diversifying media ownership in the country.
Its agenda covers domestic politics, the economy and social affairs, and the channel gained recognition quickly for adding a new voice to public debate.
