A 27-year-old man hospitalized with severe head injuries has passed away early this morning at Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki. He had been receiving treatment following a violent altercation that took place in Giannitsa, Pella.

According to police reports, the dispute originally began inside a nightclub where the two young men were socializing with different groups. The confrontation escalated later when their paths crossed again outside the entertainment venue.

Witnesses stated that a physical fight broke out, during which a 26-year-old allegedly punched the victim, causing him to fall to the ground. Following the initial incident, a 26-year-old suspect was arrested, gave a statement, and was remanded in custody on September 1st.

The detained individual subsequently testified before the investigating judge of Giannitsa regarding felony-level severe bodily harm. During his testimony, the suspect presented his version of events, denied the charges, and claimed he had no intention of harming the victim.
