LBC began broadcasting in 1973 as Britain's first commercial radio station and is today one of the country's most listened-to speech stations. LBC News is the group's rolling news service. The station's identity rests on listener participation: programmes in which politicians answer callers live have become a regular feature of British public debate.
Its radio origins shape the output — talk and argument matter more than visual production. It is owned by the media group Global.
